About SAAQAH

A street name that became a workshop standard

We took our name from El Saaqah Street - not as branding theatre, but as a reminder that good furniture is local before it is loud.

Origins

Started with one table and a stubborn refusal to veneer shortcuts

In 2014 a small team in Sheraton Al Matar began building tables for neighbours who were tired of furniture that loosened after one humid summer. Word moved faster than advertising. Today SAAQAH still works from the same corridor of Cairo - El Nozha - with a larger bench floor and the same impatience for hollow construction.

What we believe

Principles that survive the sketchbook

Climate first

Egyptian interiors swing between dry heat and coastal damp. We season timber and choose finishes that respect that swing instead of fighting it with plastic shine.

Repairable joints

If a piece cannot be tightened, re-glued, or refinished, it does not leave our floor. Longevity is a design feature, not a slogan.

Visible labour

Clients are welcome to see the bench. Mystery is for fiction; furniture should show who made it and how.

Today

Eighteen benches, one address

We remain deliberately mid-scale. Enough people to take on full-room commissions; few enough that the lead joiner still knows every active order by name. Visit us at El Saaqah St, Sheraton Al Matar, El Nozha, Cairo Governorate 4472111, Egypt.
